When Lina finished school, she wanted to find a job and earn her own money. Her family did not have much money, so she knew that she had to work hard. She also wanted to learn new things and build a better future for herself.
At the age of twenty, Lina found her first job at a large hotel in the city. She started as a receptionist at the front desk. She welcomed guests, answered the telephone and helped people with their questions. She also gave guests their room keys and explained where they could find the hotel restaurant.
At first, the job was not easy. Lina did not speak English very well, and many foreign guests asked questions she could not understand. Sometimes, she felt nervous and did not know what to say. However, she did not give up. Every day, she learned new words and practised speaking English. She listened carefully to her more experienced colleagues and watched how they helped the guests.
Lina arrived at work on time and always tried to do her best. When she made a mistake, she listened to the advice of her manager and tried not to make the same mistake again. Her colleagues soon noticed that she was friendly, careful and ready to help.
After one year, Lina felt much more confident. She could speak to guests more easily and solve many small problems by herself. Her manager was pleased with her progress.
One day, he asked Lina to help train a new receptionist. She was surprised because she was still young and had much to learn. But she accepted the task and helped the new employee patiently.
Lina did not know it at the time, but this was the beginning of a long career in the hotel business. She had started at the front desk, but she dreamed of taking on greater responsibility one day. She understood that success did not come overnight. It came through hard work, patience and a willingness to learn.

Remember how babies
learn a language:
Babies learn a language by listening.
They use their ears to hear sounds.
Their brain remembers these sounds.
Babies connect sounds with people and things.
They listen to their parents.
Then they copy the sounds they hear. They imitate words.
Slowly, babies learn to speak.
So,
LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN………………
