My Trip to Tanzania

Last year, my family and I went to Tanzania for a safari. I loved taking pictures of all the bright birds we sawβ€”it was a wonderful holiday!

On our first morning, we saw a very big elephant. It was around three metres tall, and I am sure it was heavy. Our guide told us that big elephants can weigh up to 6,000 kilograms! However, I was not scared at all. My dad said that elephants are usually friendly and calm. They have big ears and a long trunk to drink water and find food. I even saw one elephant using its trunk to throw dirt on its body to cool down.

Later in the afternoon, we saw a group of chimpanzees sitting in the trees. They looked very funny and cute, but we stayed far away. You must be careful because wild chimps can be very loud and strong. Many people think chimpanzees are really smart. I think they are smarter than elephants because they can use small sticks to pick up food!

When we returned to our tent in the evening, we had a big surprise. There was a fat green frog sitting on my bed! My dad was afraid of it, but my mum picked it up with her hands and put it in the grass outside. She is really brave!
