A visit to the market
Mother takes Budi and Siti to the village market on Saturday morning. They walk to the market together. It is busy, and many people are there.
Mother buys two kilos of rice for 20,000 rupiah. She also buys six eggs for 12,000 rupiah and four bananas for 5,000 rupiah. She gives the seller 50,000 rupiah. The seller gives her 13,000 rupiah back.
Budi looks at the fruit. He wants three oranges, but mother says they have enough fruit at home. Siti sees a beautiful red pencil. It costs 4,000 rupiah.
“Can I buy this pencil, please?” she asks.
Mother smiles and gives her 5,000 rupiah. Siti pays for the pencil and gets 1,000 rupiah back.
The children help mother carry the bags home. They are happy with their visit to the market. Siti puts her new pencil in her schoolbag. Budi eats a banana when they get home.

Remember how babies
learn a language:
Babies learn a language by listening.
They use their ears to hear sounds.
Their brain remembers these sounds.
Babies connect sounds with people and things.
They listen to their parents.
Then they copy the sounds they hear. They imitate words.
Slowly, babies learn to speak.
So,
LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN………………
