Dear Aisyah,

How are you? I hope you are well. I want to tell you about my home town, Solok, in West Sumatra. I live here with my family, and I like living here very much.

Solok is a small town. It is in a green area with many hills and mountains. The air is often cool, especially in the morning and evening. There are many rice fields around the town. The rice fields are very beautiful, and farmers work there every day.

My family has a small house near the town centre. I live with my parents and my two brothers. Every morning, I get up at six o’clock. I have breakfast with my family and then I go to school. I usually go to school by motorbike with my father. My school is not far from our home.

After school, I sometimes meet my friends. We like walking around the town, talking and buying food. There are many small food shops in Solok. I really like nasi kapau, fried rice and fresh fruit. We also drink tea together.

At the weekend, my family often visits places near Solok. We like going to the hills and looking at the rice fields. Sometimes we visit a lake or a small village. My parents like taking photos, and I like spending time outside.

People in Solok are friendly and helpful. Many people know each other, so the town feels like a big family. There are also many traditional Minangkabau houses in the area. I like seeing the special roofs on these houses.

I hope you can visit Solok one day. I would like to show you my school, my favourite food shops and some beautiful places near the town.
