💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻Bopha’s job – Guest Assistant – at a hotel (text, exercises, sound files, present simple, some past simple, A2)💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

Before you start, make sure you are familiar with present simple and past simple.

My name is Bopha. I am a Guest Assistant at Shinta Mani Angkor in Siem Reap, Cambodia. I like my job very much because I meet many people from different countries. Every day is different, and I enjoy helping guests. My job is to make every guest feel welcome, safe, and happy during their stay.

Before I started this job, I did a six-month internship at a hotel. During my internship, I learned how to welcome guests, answer the telephone, and work at the front desk. I also received a certificate in hotel reception skills. I enjoy good customer service. I am friendly, polite, and patient. I can talk to guests in a clear and kind way. I work carefully and always look at small details. When guests have a problem, I stay calm and do my best to help them.

My hotel is a very good place to work. I have one and a half days off every week. The hotel gives me meals when I am on duty, and I also have insurance. My team is friendly, and we help each other every day. My managers are kind and want us to learn new things. When I work hard, people see my good work. I can learn new skills and grow in my job.

I start work at 7:30 every morning. First, I put on my uniform and check that the front desk is clean and ready. Then I welcome guests with a smile. I check guests in and check guests out. I answer the telephone and give information about the hotel. I help guests book tours, spa treatments, rooms, and restaurant tables. Sometimes I tell guests about other hotel services that they may like.

During the day, I answer many questions and help guests with their needs. I work with my team to solve small problems. I also take payments and keep guest information correct. Before I go home, I prepare everything for the next shift.

I am proud to be a Guest Assistant. I enjoy helping people, and I am happy when guests leave the hotel with a smile and good memories of their stay.

Remember how babies learn a language:

Babies learn a language by listening.
They use their ears to hear sounds.
Their brain remembers these sounds.
Babies connect sounds with people and things.
They listen to their parents.
Then they copy the sounds they hear. They imitate words.
Slowly, babies learn to speak.

So,
LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN………………
