In 2026, Waisak Day was on May 1. My name is Indra, and I want to tell my story. This year, I went to Borobudur. It is a very big and famous temple. I felt excited and a little nervous.
I woke up very early in the morning. The sky was still dark. My family and I walked with many people. Everyone wore white clothes. The air was quiet and calm. I could see many candles and soft lights.
When we arrived, I looked at the temple. It was very big and beautiful. There were many steps and stone statues. I stayed close to my parents. I felt small, but happy to be there.
The monks started the ceremony. They chanted slowly. The sound was soft and peaceful. I did not understand all the words, but I felt calm inside. I closed my eyes and listened.
I had flowers and a candle. I put the flowers near the temple and lit my candle. I thought about being kind and helping others. I wanted to be a better person.
Later, we sat down quietly. I tried to meditate. My mind moved a lot, but I tried to focus. I took slow breaths. After some time, I felt more peaceful.
At night, we walked together with candles. There were so many lights. It looked like stars on the ground. I smiled and looked around. Everyone was calm and kind.
When we went home, I felt tired but very happy. This Waisak Day was special for me. I will always remember my time at Borobudur.
