Meet Vang Vorng – a role model (A1)

– helping young people in Cambodia

Vang Vorng is from Cambodia. He is a kind and helpful man. He works at a school in Siem Reap. The school is part of the Shinta Mani Foundation. It is a hotel school. Poor students can study there for free.

Vorng helps students from small villages. Their families do not have much money. He goes to visit schools in the countryside. He talks to students and their parents. He says, “Do you want to study?” If they say yes, he helps them come to the hotel school.

At the school, students learn English. They learn how to speak to guests. They also learn how to work in hotels. They clean rooms, serve food, and work at the front desk. They study in class and practice in a real hotel. Vorng is their teacher. He helps them every day. He is friendly and patient.

Since 2023, more than 60 students finished the program. Now, they have good jobs in hotels. They are happy. They can help their families.

Vorng is proud of his students. He says, “I want to help more young people.” He is a hero in his community. He gives students hope and a better future.
